The new Pittsburgh Arena will be the home for the Pittsburgh Penguins and will replace their current arena, Mellon Arena, which was built in 1961.  The arena will also function as a multipurpose venue for performing arts and entertainment.  The consultant will analyze the Pittsburgh Arena Master Development Plan, recommendations from the Contextual Design Advisory Panel and meet with City staff, project stakeholders and the community to develop a comprehensive public art plan for the arena.  The art plan should provide for projects that depict the history, present and future of Pittsburgh, the Hill District, Uptown and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000) is available for this project including all expenses and travel.

The competition is open to established professional consultants or consultant teams working within the United States.  Students are not eligible to apply. Please send your application by U.S. Mail, email or common carrier no later than March 21, 2008.
