-scope art fair inc. introduced its unique brand of global culture to the Hamptons to great success. -scope Hamptons occurred July 15th to 17th at Hampton Hall, 230 Elm Street, Southampton. Next up are: -scope Paris , October 7th to 9th, and the return of -scope London October 21st to 24th.

As the main contemporary art event, -scope became the focal point around which the community rallied, causing what Dan's Papers called 'The -scope Effect.' -scope was especially excited about the quality and quantity of art-related events that cropped up around -scopeHamptons. These spontaneous partnerships helped to lay the groundwork for many weekends of art to come.

Continuing to experiment with what a fair can be, -scope introduced a new format for its programs and performances by locating in a meeting hall where the 40 exhibitors at the fair creatively displayed the art of their featured artist in booths, to rave reviews from the audience of 3,500. The constant flow of collectors and new format created a sense of excitement, which was matched by the numerous red dots.

In a demonstration of Jaguar's enthusiasm and support of the art world, the Jaguar Art Car program was introduced at -scope Hamptons. Artists were given an unusual blank canvas to display their creative vision - a 1/18th scale model of a Jaguar X-TYPE automobile. Jaguar then donated these one-of-a-kind scale models to a silent auction which raised $2,500 to benefit The Retreat ( www.theretreatinc.org ), the only domestic violence agency on Long Island's East End.

Other exciting programs included the opening night Benefit , hosted by the -scopeCircle, in support of The Parrish Art Museum, Guild Hall and the Artist Alliance of East Hampton, which featured a red carpet journey into the untamed art world led by LaLa Pantzeroff with the hypnotic sounds of Brute Force and freely poured Hpnotiq.
The Young Collectors reception, partnered with Americans for the Arts ( ww3.artsusa.org ) and kids-scope , -scope's newest program sponsored by Altoids, which was crawling with activity as Free Style Arts entertained the budding collectors, and Cinema-scope , curated by David Hunt and Lee Wells/IFAC.

-scope Art Fair Inc. The mission of -scope ( www.scope-art.com ) is to demystify the buying process of contemporary art. -scope accomplishes this by producing international art fairs of cutting-edge art and emerging culture. The fairs bring together up-and-coming dealers, curators and artists in a relaxed atmosphere. The exhibitions, in combination with -scope Programs (e.g., Cinema-scope, panel discussions, -scopeSound, Performance-scope,) cultivate a unique forum for contemporary art and emerging culture. In this way, -scope makes itself an invaluable resource for established and burgeoning collectors as well as museums, corporate curators and the general public.
